I flew from Dublin to Sydney recently and the second leg of my trip was terrible. The plane for this leg for archaic with narrow seats, horrible leg space, and a tiny entertainment screen. The TV froze 1 minute into my 14 hour flight. I said this to the cabin crew straight away but was ignored until I asked for a 5th time almost 3 hours into the flight. In the end, they couldn't fix it, they claimed they couldn't move me as the plane was full, and offer me a $15 wifi voucher as compensation. Firstly, the wifi voucher only last 6 hours maximum, but in reality it doesn't even last that long. The staff member informed me that the data limit was low and so I couldn't watch videos on it, and this wasn't useful to me at all.
The most disppointing part, however, is Etihads indifference and poor service after the fact by refusing to do anything for me as "they already gave me a wifi voucher as a service recovery."
Bitterly disappointing from start to finish. Do not fly with them.

I’ve been trying to obtain a full cash refund or vouchers for a flight not taken due to the pandemic Covid 19. The flight was to depart on April 2020. Called and called… Emailed and emailed but they are lying. The last emails I received was in July 2021 and they mentioned case has been resolved. Resolved mean they will refund but waited and waited nothing has been received until today. It’s sad and shocking that recently they call me to mentioned that the ticket and vouchers validity already expired and NO Refund. It’s very sad and it look like cheating or scam, I don’t even received the vouchers. Their staff is lying and very unprofessional and rude.
Worst airline Etihad…

Great experience
I recently flew to Australia with Etihad, business class. It was a great experience and the service was exceptional. I have used them previously (travelling in Economy) and have always found them a good airline.
Worst airline ever
Worst airline ever. We were supposed to travel with our pet cat in cabin. But they never approved. Every single day a new type of document, that we’ve provided. Spent over 200€ just to contact their customer service. The last minute they lied about sending the approval to the checking in desk and they never did. Even the etihad personnels told us not to choose etihad, funny right?!! My brother had to stay with the cat and find someone to take of it last minute and his ticket was non refundable so he had to buy a new ticket. Even submitted a claim and never got a reply. Worst airline. Worst customer service.
6 months of trouble. Changed my flight without warning, useless communication and then cancelled without refund (still)
1 star just because there is not an option for 0 stars. Simply criminals. They will try to rob you off in any way they can using ridiculous small letters from their "air contracts". They scam people by changing flights without warning and after you claim your money back they just cancel your flight without reimbursement. Going out of business would be the best for all future passengers that would be unlucky enough to choose them. On the phone, useless humanoid robots, just repeat themselves on regulations that are meaningless. Needless to say, they do not give a dime about their passengers. To be treated as criminals of the common penal law. A true disgrace - disgusting people....

Unethical behaviour, Etihad Travel Bank is a scam
Etihad's travel bank scheme is a complete fraud. I was told in writing and on the phone my Etihad travel bank credit had a 720 day expiry. However without notice Etihad had changed this to a 365 day expiry. After several emails with their customer service team it appears Etihad changed their policy AFTER I was given a travel bank credit, AND backdated the change. Their customer service staff were unapologetic and unhelpful. I appreciate the travel industry is still recovering from COVID, however dodgy business practices such as these are unacceptable. Etihad may have stolen GBP 3000 from me, however they will be losing much more in lost business.

I’ve been trying to obtain a refund for a flight not taken due to the pandemic. The flight was booked for April 2020. I’ve done all they’ve asked. Called and called. Emailed and waited for a response, they lie and say they will call back or that the refund is being processed. It’s a shocking situation when staff resort to lying, how very unprofessional.

Customer care and refund are a joke
Customer care and refund are made a joke by etihad.
They don’t refund the fuel surcharge which is 50%-60% of the fare.
When I asked why, all an executive could show me was their T&C where it hasn’t even been mentioned.
If you need a peaceful flight. I don’t recommend etihad.
They charge you for the service they provide over call ($15). One should charge it only if their online ticket management systems are as good as they think they are.
Superb services
Very good services. Usually the food being served on board is not good but for Etihad it was amazing. The flight was on time, staff was super good, amazing hospitality and super comfortable seats. I also got an upgrade from economy to economy space for free from one side. Although economy was also comfortable.
Awful experience
Awful experience, Manchester to Doha return flight, rude and arrogant staff at check in and customer service helpline - after 35 minutes international call and no help at all as I was kept on hold three times just to say contact your travel agent !!! I shall NEVER use this airline.

Pleasantly surprised!
Flew from Madrid to Bangkok last weekend with Etihad. Food was fine, we were allocated Economy Space seats on the 1st leg of the journey, they were great. My husband had legroom, I had a standard economy on the 2nd leg, both seats comfortable Cabin crew very friendly.
No idea why people have nothing good to say about this airline. We paid 1035€ return for 2 people. 517,50€ each, absolute bargain.
Crew don't come with drinks very often, but you can always ask for drinks.
Would recommend them and definitely fly with them again.
I've been less comfortable and had worse food served by grumpy Emirates staff for double the price. I know who gives better value for money!
Excruciatingly painful user experience in every way.
I could write an essay about the numerous infuriating experiences I have had with Etihad over the past 2 years but I've already spent far too much time trying to get them to rectify their shortfalls in service, in-flight experience, website, and mobile experience. Nothing seems to work - not the tech in flight, the complaints procedure, the staff, the food service...the list goes on. It's a miracle Etihad are still alive - it must have something to do with the fact that they are ripping off customers with extortionate flight prices for what is a shambles of a service in the air. It's shameful that their website and phone staff are unable to allow customer to book a flight with miles because of "some back end error" that they are unable to articulate. As an Etihad guest member for over 5 years, I've lost all loyalty at this stage - cutting costs to save money has gone on for far too long, and it's not only hurting the service-level experience but is the reason for the demise of the brand. What a shame and an utter shambles of an airline.

Extremely bad experience DO NOT USE…
Extremely bad experience DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. When I called they said there was a transit Visa but upon arrival I was denied entry. The airport denied the existence of a transit visa and the official made me pay 120 euros!!! I competency at its best. I will never fly through Saudi again!!
The worst check in counter staff
The check in experience was one of the worst I have ever seen. Etihad does not have thier owb staff and use the local Thai staff. The supervisor Ms. Muta was one of the worst person I have ever faced. Sjhe was absolutely racial and mocked at my wife who was a wheelchair passenger. This person will ruin the image of Etihad or for that matter any airline if she is kept at the check in counters.

Had a poor in flight experience today…
Had a poor in flight experience today on the Abu Dhabi to London journey. Firstly the in-flight entertainment system wasn’t working, the service was extremely slow (took around 20mins from the service call button being pressed), no snacks available, meal was small, drinks were very limited.
But worst of all I had a fractured coxic bone and I asked for any assistance e.g. extra pillow, different seat and was rebuffed. This led to 8 hours of pure pain.
Overall poor experience and will be hesitant to use in the future.
